`DELETE /organizations/{id}` — request de-boarding of the org(closes). Admin of the org only, and the path id must match the caller's own org.

DELETE/organizations/{id}

Records the request; it tears nothing down. The org row is flipped to deleting and the request is raised to an operator, who completes it out of band. Nothing branches on that marker, so the org keeps serving until they do. Teardown deletes the account's own stack and returns the account to the pool (ADR-0043 churn), which only the management plane can do, so no tenant request runs it. 202 is accepted-for-processing, not scheduled.
